Exploring Exmoor: A Day to Remember

What a fabulous day exploring Exmoor on e-bikes hired from Exmoor Adventures. We set off with four Specialized Tevos, perfectly suited for our mixed group of riders—two seasoned adventurers (55+) and two energetic race snakes (18 & 17).

From Sea Level to the Summit

Starting at sea level, we embarked on our adventure, climbing to an impressive 517 meters to Dunkery Beacon (919m overall). The views were absolutely breathtaking on that gorgeous April day! The e-bikes really made a difference, allowing us to stay together and savour every moment instead of struggling up the hills.

A Thought for Next Time

With hindsight, we realized that a full-suspension bike could have added an extra layer of comfort and excitement to the ride. But all in all, it was an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, stunning scenery, and a little bit of friendly competition among the riders.

Jack at Exmoor Adventures truly knows how to set the stage for an unforgettable biking experience! With his expert guidance, we quickly learned the ins and outs of the bikes. To top it off, he equipped us with a Garmin—no more stopping to check the route; we were ready to roll!

Riding the Trails

The bikes performed flawlessly, enabling us to tackle some challenging rocky paths and power up those steep road inclines with ease. It was a thrill to feel the rush of the wind as we navigated through the stunning Exmoor landscape.

Unexpected Praise

One of our group members, a seasoned road cyclist, couldn’t help but express how much fun the e-bikes made the day. While he might not be a full-on convert just yet, it’s safe to say he’s definitely warming up to the idea!
